Venice man gets in trouble for possessing 17 too many lobsters

A 58-year-old Venice, Florida man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation Thursday for possessing 17 over-the-limit lobster.
Upper Keys Marine Deputy Nelson Sanchez was on boat patrol near the Tea Table Relief Bridge near Mile Marker 79 when he noticed scuba bubbles approximately 300 feet from a vessel with a dive flag. He identified the diver as William Stephen Swanson.
Swanson had 23 lobsters in his possession. The limit in Monroe County is six.
The 17 over-the-limit lobster were returned to the ocean alive.
