Detectives began their investigation in May after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children (NCMEC) regarding the possible transmission of child pornography. Through investigation, detectives learned Jeffrey Sowulewski, a registered sex offender, sent a graphic image utilizing a social networking application. Investigation also revealed Sowulewski did not register two online accounts which is required as part of his sexual offender registration requirements. On Wednesday, detectives executed a search warrant at his home where they seized several electronics. During an interview, Sowulewski also admitted to utilizing four additional online accounts and failing to notify the sheriff’s office of his new job, both violations of his registration requirements.

Today, Sowulewski, DOB 08/28/80, of 828 Searcy Avenue, is charged with single counts of Possession of Child Pornography, Transmission of Child Pornography, and Failure to Report Change of Employment Within 48 Hours. He also faces six total counts of Failure to Register Online Entities. He remains in custody today without bond.
