The move to defund the police in Sarasota is very dangerous

As Law Enforcement patrolled our city to keep all of us safe, The “Party for Socialism and Liberation” marched throughout the City of Sarasota and on the steps of Sarasota City Hall to demand that we Defund The Police.
First – This is CRAZY, DANGEROUS and something I will NEVER let happen as long as I am a County Commissioner! We must respect the rule of law and support those who help us maintain law & order!
Second – Every citizen better wake up. There is a force out there looking to not just Defund The Police, but to upend America as we know it.
And for those who say “Defund The Police” doesn’t actually mean “Defund”, please take note that their signs could have easily fit “Reform Police” if that’s what they meant! (Same character count too!)
