Could the FHP station in S. Venice next to the court house become the home of a new homeless facility?

Sarasota County is moving forward with their push to develop a homeless shelter in S. County.  Currently they are looking at placing the Homeless outreach Team shelter across the street from the court house in S. Venice, which currently houses the FHP.

The construction would not take place for a couple years, after the FHP lease ends.  Until then North Port has offered a temporary site.

They are looking at the FHP station because of hit vicinity to a SCAT stop, it is zoned correctly and is centrally located for the S. County.  The location would provide the homeless with showers, sleeping, and a kitchen.
