A friend posted this yesterday, asked to have it shared:

VENICE FL people and equestrian community, please be aware there is suspicious activity in our community. There were Cubans/Hispanics seen taking pictures of broodmares (pregnant horses for those who may not know) in a pasture at a local farm. There was also report of people near said farm last night around 11 pm in a truck (not known if it is the same truck) with flashlights. They went to the local feed store and also asked about various animals (goats, pigs, chickens, etc) and asked about butchering them onsite. Cops are notified and DID make contact and question them at the feed store. However, nothing can be done without actual wrongdoing of course. This is a very distinct red Chevy with horse statues on the front. They have been within our area over the last week and were never seen here previously. This is near Everglades estates, Venice ave, Jackson Road and Havana road.

PLEASE PLEASE be aware and report anything suspicious and be on the lookout!! If you aren’t aware, there is a big market for horse meat and it is all too common for slaughters within Florida. Some way too close to home. This is nothing we will take lightly.
