Phone scam: COVID-19 Contact Tracing Scam.

PHONE SCAM ??❗: We wanted to pass along some information on a new scam that Attorney General Ashley Moody is warning Floridians about – a COVID-19 Contact Tracing Scam. She urges to be on the lookout for scammers posing as health department officials who call to inform you that you may have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in an attempt to gain your personal information. Real Health Department officials may ask you to verify your date of birth during a contact tracing notification, but they will not do the following:

? Ask for your Social Security number
? Ask for payment or banking information
? Tell you the name of the person you came into contact with

If you notice one of these red flags or something doesn’t seem, right call your local health department directly to confirm the legitimacy of the call. #COVID19Scam #PhoneScam
