Venice: Sewer breaks leads to a 5,000 gallon leak of sewage and stormwater

Incident Description
Crews responded to a call of a sewer break at 2521 Border Road. Upon investigation, they discovered an ARV had been hit by a vehicle. The crews were able to isolate the ARV to stop the spill. Approximately 5,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the roadside swale and the adjacent stormwater ditch. The recovery yielded 4,400 gallons of combined stormwater and sewage. Sampling has begun. Clean up and notifications are proceeding according to protocol. The ARV will either be moved underground, or bollards will be installed.
