Sarasota Police need help identifying individuals that allegedly stole some high-end fishing equipment from a few boats

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying at least five individuals who were seen on camera in the 1100 block of John Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, between 7 p.m. on October 23, 2021, and 8 a.m. on October 24, 2021, removing high-end fishing equipment from at least three boats.

 

Three different victims called the Sarasota Police Department to report fishing rods and reels stolen from their boats between 7 p.m. on October 23, 2021, and 8 a.m. on October 24, 2021.  In total, at least six fishing poles, four spinning reels, and other various fishing equipment were stolen.  The value for the stolen equipment is approximately $25,000.
